A Good Start

Happy New Year! I’m starting the 2020 in Asheville, NC. While touring the River Arts District the other day, we ran into the lovely Barbara McGuire, author of “Foundations in Polymer Clay Design” and “Wire in Design”. If you are at all interested in polymer clay and you don’t have these books already, you are missing out! Go get you a copy!

She mentioned that she was having a little “Art party” today, so we all signed up. (Yes, I made everyone do polymer clay on vacation.). We made mandalas with canes by Ivy Niles (ikandiclay on Etsy). It was so much fun! I think even the beginners enjoyed it. And I’m not a caner, so it was a totally different way of working for me. (Mine is the one in the upper right corner.)  Thank you, Barbara, for an artistic fun start to the new year!
